Extraordinary Bodies Young Artists (EBYA) is a professionally led inclusive performance company for emerging artists, based at Lighthouse Poole’s Centre for the Arts. The company meet weekly developing new talent, working with people aged 16-30 years. They create contemporary devised performances, working across the disciplines of theatre, dance, aerial circus and music.

EBYA want to reshape the performing arts, so that every young person has the opportunity to experience and pursue their artistic potential, regardless of any barriers they may face.

EBYA have previously performed in Exeter, Unlimited Festival in London, Inside Out Festival in Dorset, Doing Things Differently in Bristol, Theatre Royal Plymouth and National Centre for Circus Arts. The company have also participated in international projects in Bosnia, Portugal and Italy with The Complete Freedom of Truth.

EBYA are currently on tour with their latest show, Becoming.
Becoming is about growing up. It’s not yet arriving at the destination, but constantly Becoming the person you really are.

The show premiers at The Lighthouse Poole at the end of August, then onto Circus City in Bristol and Roundhouse in Poole in the autumn.

Membership

EBYA run an audition process once a year, the next auditions will take place January 2018. You can meet the current company here.

Access

We have qualified support workers at each session to meet the access needs of all participants and our rehearsal space is fully accessible.
