Diverse City is an associate company of Bristol Old Vic, the longest continuously running theatre in the UK.

Following a recent £12.5 million redevelopment project, Bristol Old Vic is one of the most modern venues in the country, with state of the art rehearsal rooms, a dramatically extended forestage and precision-engineered sightlines, giving audiences an even more intimate theatrical experience.

Bristol Old Vic’s mission is to create pioneering twenty-first century theatre, in partnership with the people of their energetic city, inspired by the history and magical design of the most beautiful playhouse in the country.

Diverse City and Cirque Bijou have been working in partnership since 2011 and together they lead Extraordinary Bodies circus company.

Cirque Bijou make shows in myriad environments, with and for communities and clients worldwide. They work with emerging and world-class artists and for audiences of 50 to tens of thousands. They combine a pioneering spirit with sky-high production values that give our shows a unique edge few can match.

Clore Leadership Programme

Diverse City works in partnership with Clore Leadership programme on our groundbreaking Unexpected Leaders strand.

Clore Leadership invests in individuals to strengthen leadership across a wide range of creative and cultural activities. Initiated by the Clore Duffield Foundation, and sustained by the Foundation’s generous support, the Programme is the UK’s first cross-disciplinary leadership programme for the cultural and creative sector.

Lighthouse, Poole’s Centre for the Arts

Diverse City is an associate company of Lighthouse, Poole’s Centre for the Arts and our youth company, Extraordinary Bodies Young Artists, are based in the venue.

Lighthouse plays a vital role in Poole and the South West as a nationally important cultural building, where creative work is made, rehearsed, discussed, shared and presented. It is a place where the community present their work and where entire schools can showcase their talent in a professional performance environment – an experience never to be forgotten in anyone’s lifetime.

Lighthouse support Extraordinary Bodies Young Artists, offering space for the company to meet, rehearse and perform.

National Theatre

Diverse City is working in partnership with The National Theatre New Writing Department on their next show with Extraordinary Bodies, What am I Worth?

The National Theatre is dedicated to making world-class theatre that is entertaining, challenging and inspiring, aiming to share it with as many people as possible. The work The National makes strives to be as open, as diverse, as collaborative and as national as possible.

The National is also committed to education, with a wide-ranging Learning programme for all ages in their new Clore Learning Centre, and in schools and communities across the UK.

Theatre Royal Plymouth

Diverse City works as an Agent for Change at Theatre Royal Plymouth and is a partner of their flagship Funky Llama project.

The venue is the largest regional producing theatre in the UK and the leading promoter of theatre in the South West. Funky Llama is about raising aspirations, creating opportunities, challenging perceptions and developing a regional and national network of creative activity for adults with different abilities.
